Aleksandr Benyaminov was a Russian actor who was born on 4 June 1904 in Grozny, Russian Empire. He was best known for his roles in the films The Cranes Are Flying (1957), The Ascent (1977), and The Irony of Fate (1975). Benyaminov began his career in the theater in the 1920s, and made his film debut in the 1930s. He appeared in over 50 films throughout his career, and was awarded the People's Artist of the USSR in 1975. Benyaminov was married to actress Tatyana Pelttser, and had two children. He died on 28 April 1988 in Moscow, Russia.
