Alessandro Aronadio is an Italian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his films The Great Beauty (2013), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and The Wonders (2014), which won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. Aronadio was born in Rome, Italy, on 29 July 1975. He studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and graduated in 2000. Aronadio's first feature film, The Great Beauty, was released in 2013 and won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was also nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. His second feature film, The Wonders, was released in 2014 and won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. Aronadio has also directed several short films, including The Red Dress (2005), which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, and The Last Day of Summer (2008), which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
