He is the first Indonesian to win a major international racing championship, having won the Formula 3 Asia Championship in 2004. He won the Formula 3 Asia Championship in 2004, and also competed in the Formula 3000 International Championship in 2005. In 2006, he competed in the A1 Grand Prix series, representing Indonesia.
