Barbara Bain is an American actress best known for her roles in the 1960s television series Mission: Impossible and Space: 1999. She was born on September 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. Bain began her career as a model before transitioning to acting. She made her television debut in 1957 in an episode of the series Studio One. She went on to appear in a number of television series, including The Untouchables, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and The Fugitive. In 1966, Bain was cast as Cinnamon Carter in the television series Mission: Impossible. She starred in the series for its entire seven-year run. In 1975, she was cast as Dr. Helena Russell in the science fiction series Space: 1999. She starred in the series for its entire two-year run. Bain has also appeared in a number of films, including The Anderson Tapes (1971), The Omega Man (1971), and The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996). Bain has won three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for her work. She has been married to actor Martin Landau since 1957. They have two daughters, Susan and Juliet.
