McGinity began her career as an actress in the early 2000s, appearing in a number of television shows and films. She made her debut in the 2003 film The Biggest Fan. She has since appeared in a number of television shows, including The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and Days of Our Lives. In 2014, McGinity joined the cast of the Lifetime reality television series Little Women: LA. She has since appeared in the spin-off series Little Women: Atlanta. McGinity has been married twice. She was first married to actor and producer Todd Gibel from 2004 to 2008. She is currently married to her second husband, Todd Roy. The couple have two children together.

(June 21, 2019) Filed for annulment of marriage from her husband of 4 years Todd Gibel. The filing comes one month after she previously filed for a temporary restraining order against her husband in May. According to TMZ, she was moved to action after her husband allegedly impersonated her via email and shut her out of her social media accounts. As part of the restraining order, Todd was also ordered to move out of their home.
