She attended the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in communications. After college, she began her career in television news, working as a reporter and anchor in various markets, including Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; and Dallas, Texas. In 1982, Tinsley joined the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas, where she has been a news anchor ever since. She has won numerous awards for her work, including the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast in the Nation. Tinsley is married to her husband, John Tinsley, and they have two children. Clarice Tinsley (born December 31, 1954) is an American broadcast journalist. In November 1978, she moved to the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex to anchor the ten o'clock news for KDFW-TV (the CBS station for the market at the time, now a Fox O&O). In 1979 the six o'clock news was added to her duties. As of 2012, she is the longest-serving news anchor in the Dallas/Fort Worth television market.
