Dewey Selmon is a former American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1976 to 1984. He was born on November 19, 1953 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was a two-time All-American and a member of the 1975 national championship team. Selmon was selected by the Buccaneers in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1979. He was also named to the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 1970s. Selmon retired from the NFL in 1984 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. He was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. Selmon is currently the Executive Director of the University of South Florida's Athletic Department. He is married to his wife, Linda, and has three children. As of 2021, Dewey Selmon's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
