Don Rich was an American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was a member of the band The Buckaroos, and was a key figure in the development of the Bakersfield sound. He was born in Olympia, Washington, and began playing guitar at the age of nine. He joined The Buckaroos in 1962, and was a member until his death in 1974. Rich was a prolific songwriter, and wrote or co-wrote many of the band's hits, including "Act Naturally", "Together Again", and "Waitin' in Your Welfare Line". He was also a talented guitarist, and was known for his innovative use of the pedal steel guitar. Rich died in a motorcycle accident in 1974, at the age of 33. He was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. At the time of his death, he had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
