Evan Wickham is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work with the band Switchfoot, which he co-founded in 1996. He has also released several solo albums, including his debut solo album, The Art of Moving On, in 2009. Wickham was born in San Diego, California, and grew up in the nearby city of Encinitas. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and soon after joined his first band, The Urgency. He attended San Dieguito High School and graduated in 1999. In 1996, Wickham co-founded the band Switchfoot with his brother Jon and two other friends. The band has since released nine studio albums, with their most recent, Where the Light Shines Through, released in 2016. In 2009, Wickham released his debut solo album, The Art of Moving On. He has since released two more solo albums, The Long Fall Back to Earth in 2011 and The Burning of Rome in 2013. Wickham has also collaborated with other artists, including the band Relient K, on their album Forget and Not Slow Down. Wickham was based in Vista, California, where he used to lead worship at Calvary Chapel. During this time Evan also served terms as the Middle School Pastor and High School Pastor. He was known for his passion for worship, theology, and opening his home to the youth group. His ministering career after Calvary Chapel directed him towards the Horizon Christian Fellowship in his hometown, where he was the worship pastor. In 2013 he relocated to Portland, Oregon, where he was an elder and pastor of worship at The Westside branch of A Jesus Church. In 2017 he and his family moved back to San Diego, California and opened Park Hill Church. Wickham currently lives in San Diego with his wife Sandy, whom he met when he was 15 years old, and their children.
His music recording career began in 2006 with the studio album Mysterious Things released on April 6, 2006. He released Above the Sky on December 4, 2009.
