Gary Emanuel is an American football coach who currently serves as the defensive line coach for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on October 30, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Emanuel attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he played defensive tackle from 1977 to 1980. He was a two-time All-American and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1980. Emanuel began his coaching career in 1981 as a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh. He then served as the defensive line coach at the University of Cincinnati from 1983 to 1985. He then moved on to the University of Maryland, where he served as the defensive line coach from 1986 to 1989. In 1990, Emanuel joined the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the defensive line coach. He then moved on to the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, where he served as the defensive line coach until 2001. He then joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2002, where he served as the defensive line coach until 2005. In 2006, Emanuel joined the New York Giants as the defensive line coach.
