In 1989 Gordon and his wife, Sondra Locke, gave sworn testimony that they never consummated their marriage and were legally wed for tax purposes. Clint Eastwood bought Gordon a 4,535 sq. ft. house in West Hollywood when Sondra moved in with him in 1975. Clint also paid the gardener's salary and took care of Gordon's shrink bills.
His parents died within three months of each other in early 1986. Sondra Locke missed Clint Eastwood's Carmel mayoral inauguration so she could stay beside Gordon at his mother's deathbed.
