He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Legion of Merit. Grover Asmus was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the United States Army for over 30 years. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Legion of Merit. Grover Asmus was a highly respected leader and mentor to many of his fellow soldiers. He was known for his courage and dedication to duty. After his retirement from the Army, he served as a consultant to the Department of Defense. Grover Asmus passed away on April 15, 2020 at the age of 94. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren.
