Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao is an Indian politician and a member of the Telugu Desam Party. He is the current Member of Parliament from Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He was born on 6 August 1953 in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Andhra University in 1975. Rao started his political career in 1983 when he was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly from Rajahmundry constituency. He was re-elected in 1985 and 1989. He was appointed as the Minister for Education in the N.T. Rama Rao cabinet in 1989. He was re-elected to the Assembly in 1994 and 1999. He was appointed as the Minister for Endowments in the N. Chandrababu Naidu cabinet in 1999. Rao was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004 from Rajahmundry constituency. He was re-elected in 2009 and 2014. He is currently serving as the Member of Parliament from Rajahmundry. Rao is married to Smt. J. Vijaya Lakshmi and the couple has two sons. He is 58 years old.

Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao (6 August 1953 – 9 October 2011) was a three-term member of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh for Kadiyam constituency, winning elections in 1989, 1999 and 2004 as an Indian National Congress candidate. He was appointed State Minister of Roads and Buildings in 2004 and became Minister of Excise.
He was born in Adurru on 6 August 1953 and died at Bollineni Hospital on 9 October 2011, having suffered from diabetic neuropathy for several years. He had joined the YSR Congress in 2010.
