Jatinder Pannu is an Indian journalist and author. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Hindi daily newspaper, Punjab Kesari. He is also the founder of the Punjab Kesari Group, which publishes newspapers in Hindi, Punjabi, and English. Jatinder Pannu was born on 19 October 1954 in Amritsar, Punjab, India. He completed his schooling from Government High School, Amritsar. He then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree from Government College, Amritsar. Jatinder Pannu started his career as a journalist in the year 1975. He worked as a reporter for the Hindi daily newspaper, Punjab Kesari. He then went on to become the editor-in-chief of the newspaper in the year 1985. Jatinder Pannu is the founder of the Punjab Kesari Group, which publishes newspapers in Hindi, Punjabi, and English. He is also the founder of the Punjab Kesari Foundation, which works towards the upliftment of the underprivileged. Jatinder Pannu has been awarded several awards for his contribution to journalism. He was awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2000. He was also awarded the National Citizen Award in the year 2002. He was also awarded the National Award for Excellence in Journalism in the year 2003. Jatinder Pannu is married to Mrs. Pannu and has two children. He currently resides in Amritsar, Punjab, India.
