Jimmy Heath is a jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator. He is the brother of bassist Percy Heath and drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath. He has performed with many of the greats of jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Thelonious Monk. He has also composed over 125 compositions, including "Gingerbread Boy" and "C.T.A." He has been a member of the Heath Brothers and the Jazztet, and has been a leader of his own groups since the 1950s. He has also been a professor at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College since 1972. He has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album in 2003.
