Kevin Fant is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and Detroit Lions. He was born on October 24, 1980 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Fant attended the University of Mississippi, where he was a four-year starter at quarterback. He was a two-time All-SEC selection and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2001. Fant was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played for the Falcons for two seasons before being released in 2005. He then signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he played for two seasons before being released in 2007. He then signed with the Detroit Lions, where he played for one season before being released in 2008. Fant finished his NFL career with 4,845 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions. Fant is currently the head coach of the football team at his alma mater, the University of Mississippi. He was hired in December 2019.
