Max Baer Jr. is an American actor, producer, and director best known for his role as Jethro Bodine in the 1960s television series The Beverly Hillbillies. He was born on December 4, 1937 in Oakland, California, to Max Baer Sr., a boxer, and Mary Ellen Sullivan. Baer began his career as a child actor, appearing in several films and television shows. He made his feature film debut in the 1956 film The Harder They Fall. He went on to appear in films such as The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972), The Wild McCullochs (1975), and The Shootist (1976). In 1962, Baer was cast as Jethro Bodine in the CBS sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies. He played the role for nine seasons, until 1971. He also directed several episodes of the show. In addition to acting, Baer has also produced and directed several films, including Macon County Line (1974), The Wild McCullochs (1975), and The Shootist (1976). Baer has been married twice. He was married to actress Cindy Ambuehl from 1997 to 2002. He has two children from his first marriage. As of 2021, Max Baer Jr.'s net worth is estimated to be roughly $10 million.

With the death of Donna Douglas on January 1, 2015, he is the last surviving star of The Beverly Hillbillies (1962).
