P. Bhaskaran was an Indian music director, director, and actor who worked in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on 21 April 1924 in Cranganur, Kerala, India. He was a student of the Maharaja's College in Thiruvananthapuram. He started his career as a music director in the film 'Nirmala' in 1948. He went on to compose music for over 200 films in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. He also directed over 30 films in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. He was also an actor in some of his films. P. Bhaskaran was awarded the Padma Shri in 1972 for his contribution to the Indian film industry. He was also awarded the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director in 1972. He passed away on 28 August, 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
