Peter Quaife was an English musician and actor, best known as the bass guitarist for the 1960s rock band The Kinks. He was born on 31 December 1943 in Tavistock, Devon, England. Quaife began playing guitar at the age of 15, and soon joined a local band called The Ravens. He then joined The Kinks in 1964, replacing original bassist Pete Quaife. He played on all of the band's albums until 1969, when he left the band due to personal differences. After leaving The Kinks, Quaife pursued a career in acting, appearing in several films and television shows. He also released a solo album, "Revenge of the Flower People", in 1971. Quaife died on 23 June 2010, at the age of 66, after a long battle with kidney disease. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two grandchildren. At the time of his death, Quaife had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
