Sawsan Badr is an Egyptian actress, director, and producer. She is best known for her roles in films such as The Yacoubian Building (2006), The Mummy (1999), and The Mummy Returns (2001). Badr began her career in the theater in the late 1970s, and made her film debut in the 1981 film The Night of Counting the Years. She has since appeared in over 50 films, and has directed and produced several films and television series. Badr has won several awards for her work, including the Cairo International Film Festival's Best Actress Award for her performance in The Yacoubian Building. She was also nominated for the Best Actress Award at the Dubai International Film Festival for her performance in the film The Mummy. Badr is married to Egyptian actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, and they have two children. She is currently 66 years old.

She received the Best Actress Award at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival. She played the role of Mishaal bint Fahd bin Mohammed Al Saud, the Saudi princess who was executed for adultery along with her lover, in the 1980 movie, Death of a Princess.
