Shereka Wright is an American professional basketball player and coach. She was born on September 21, 1981 in Texas, United States. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she played college basketball for the Longhorns. She was a two-time All-Big 12 selection and was named the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2003. After college, Wright was drafted by the Detroit Shock in the 2003 WNBA Draft. She played for the Shock for three seasons before being traded to the Los Angeles Sparks in 2006. She played for the Sparks for two seasons before being traded to the Chicago Sky in 2008. She played for the Sky for two seasons before retiring in 2010. Wright has also played professionally in Europe, including stints in Spain, Turkey, and Russia. She was also a member of the United States national team that won the gold medal at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. In 2011, Wright began her coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Texas at Austin. She was promoted to associate head coach in 2013 and served in that role until 2017.
