She completed her schooling from St. Joseph's Convent School, Bangalore and went on to pursue her Bachelor's degree in Economics from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She then went on to pursue her Master's degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai. Satish began her career as a civil servant in 2004 when she joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). She has held various positions in the government, including the Collector of Thane district, Maharashtra, and the Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. She has also served as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Women and Child Development in the Government of Maharashtra. Satish is married to Satish Prabhakar, a businessman. The couple has two children. Satish has been awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in 2021 for her contribution to public service.
