Stanley Fink is a British businessman and politician who has served as a Conservative Member of the House of Lords since 1997. He is the former Chief Executive of Man Group, a global alternative investment management firm. He was also the Chairman of the British Hedge Fund Association from 2005 to 2008. Fink was born in Manchester, England, and educated at Manchester Grammar School and the University of Manchester. He began his career in the financial services industry in 1979, working for the London Stock Exchange. He joined Man Group in 1985 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2000. Fink was made a life peer in 1997, taking the title Baron Fink, of Northwood in the London Borough of Hillingdon. He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2004 New Year Honours. Fink is a philanthropist and has been involved in a number of charitable causes. He is a patron of the Jewish Care charity and a trustee of the Jewish Leadership Council. He is also a trustee of the Jewish Museum London and a member of the Council of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research.
