He also appeared in the 1955 film The Big Combo, starring Cornel Wilde and Richard Conte. In addition to his film roles, Airhart also appeared in several television shows, including The Adventures of Superman, The Lone Ranger, and The Cisco Kid. He also had a recurring role in the television series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Airhart passed away on April 15, 1996 in Los Angeles, California. He was 71 years old.
