After college, he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 1975 NFL Draft. He played for the 49ers for three seasons before being traded to the New England Patriots in 1978. He played for the Patriots for two seasons before retiring in 1980. Peters was a two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1976 and 1977. He was also named to the All-Pro team in 1976. He finished his career with 4,845 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions. Peters is currently 70 years old. He stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs in at 220 pounds.
