Tyler Mathisen is an American journalist and television news anchor. He is currently the co-anchor of CNBC's Power Lunch and the host of CNBC's Nightly Business Report. He was born on September 4, 1954 in Arlington, Virginia. Mathisen attended the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He began his career in journalism in 1976 as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. He then moved to WTVR-TV in Richmond, Virginia, where he was a reporter and anchor. Mathisen joined CNBC in 1991 as a reporter and anchor. He has since become a co-anchor of CNBC's Power Lunch and the host of CNBC's Nightly Business Report. He has also served as a substitute anchor for NBC's Today Show and NBC Nightly News. Mathisen is married to his wife, Susan, and they have two children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys playing tennis.
