He is best known for his roles in the films “Kamikaze Girls” (2004), “The Great Yokai War” (2005), and “The Last Samurai” (2003). He has also appeared in television series such as “Kamen Rider” (1971-1973), “Kamen Rider V3” (1973-1974), and “Kamen Rider X” (1974-1975). Ueda was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on June 20, 1940. He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 1964. He began his acting career in 1965, appearing in the television series “Kamen Rider”. He has since appeared in numerous films and television series, including “Kamen Rider V3”, “Kamen Rider X”, “Kamen Rider W”, “Kamen Rider OOO”, “Kamen Rider Fourze”, and “Kamen Rider Gaim”. Ueda has won several awards for his acting, including the Japan Academy Prize for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Kamikaze Girls” in 2004. He has also been nominated for the Japan Academy Prize for Best Supporting Actor for his roles in “The Great Yokai War” in 2005 and “The Last Samurai” in 2003. Ueda is married to actress Yoko Ueda, with whom he has two children. He currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.
