He then attended Purdue University, where he was a four-year starter and a two-time All-Big Ten selection. Deane went undrafted in the 2002 NBA Draft, but he was signed by the Boston Celtics in 2003. He played for the Celtics for two seasons before being traded to the New Orleans Hornets in 2005. He then played for the Hornets for two seasons before being traded to the San Antonio Spurs in 2007. He played for the Spurs for two seasons before being traded to the New York Knicks in 2009. He played for the Knicks for two seasons before being traded to the Westchester Knicks in 2011.
